RUGBY UNION

OVERVIEW

Our Rugby Competition began in 2024 with a overseas vs South Africa model but will change to a new format in 2025.

Our intent is to announce fixtures at least one month before the challenge begins ensuring that teams can prepare in advance for their opposition as well as ensure we do not create a situation whereby teams from the same nations face off against one another.

In 2025 teams will play in a “Blitz” style competition featuring 20 minute halves.

Fixtures are on the 14, 16 and 18 of December.

PREMIER SCHOOLS

  • Teams and Format:

    • The tournament goal will be to feature 12 teams representing various levels and nations.
    • Teams will be divided into 2 pools of 6 teams each.
    • Players must be aged 16-18.

  • Group Assignments:

    • Teams will be assigned to pools based on their nation and playing level to ensure balanced and fair competition.

  • Matches and Scoring:

    • Each team will play 5 matches within their pool.
    • The team with the most points in a pool will be declared the winner of that pool.
    • Matches length to be determine but will include rolling substitutions.
    • Scoring system:
      • 4 points for a win.
      • 1 point for a draw.
      • Bonus points:
        • 1 point for losing within 7 points.
        • 1 point for scoring 4 tries.
